DCR DB2 Data Journaling Option in Domino 6.x Is Misleading

Technote Number: 1102057

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus software Quality Engineering and has been
addressed in Domino 6.5.1.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.5.1 MR fix list (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/):

DECS
SPR# MGIY5F5MEJ - Clarified the label for the Data Journaling option.

The error occurs because the designated DB2 table in the DCR is actually not
journaled, and the following option is left at the default setting:

The current default setting for this is Journaling ENABLED. To indicate the
table is not journaled, you must place a check mark in the box.

Supporting Information:

Relevant information from the Domino Designer Help file:

DB2
Data journaling
Select this option to enable SQL querying for a non-journaled data source.
When the data source is non-journaled data -- for example, an IBM eServer
iSeries database without journaling -- SQL queries are not supported unless
this option is selected. This option sets the access mode to read only
(transaction isolation level of uncommitted read), which enables SQL queries.
The default access level is read-write (transaction isolation level of
committed read).
